Christian Lacroix's Return To Fashion With Romantic Lingerie And Swimwear Collection

The new Christian Lacroix...

Christian Lacroix famous for his own couture house, which he opened in 1987, is now returning to the fashion industry with his new women’s lingerie and swimwear collection.

He previously launched a lingerie line for women back in 2004, the same time as a menswear line. Christian Lacroix has designed many dresses for Hollywood stars; among them, he is responsible for designing Christina Aguilera's wedding dress and in the 1990s.

He hit financial difficulties back in 2009, when he had to stop producing his elaborate made to measure couture pieces in 2009. The loss to the haute couture world is the gain of the stylish masses as the house fashion turns in attention for more accessible and affordable ranges that still have Lacroix’s artistic flair.

The label was reopened with creative director Sacha Walchkhoff, with them showcasing the new womenswear range for spring/summer 2012 in Paris. This follows the success of their well-received menswear collection for spring/summer 2012 collection which was revealed last June.

The new lingerie and swimwear collection is a collaboration between the French fashion house and Lejaby, a French lingerie company with an 80 year history. The range has been described as characteristically Lacroix, being ‘diverse and opposing; bold yet reserved, romantic but adventurous.

The 'Mantille' collection is made using finely worked chantilly lace and lightweight pleated tulle which creates a fantastic alluring and feminine look. In comparison the bright prints and colours of the ‘Montecarlo’ swimwear range offers a fresh and striking look for by the pool or at the beach.

All I can say is I can’t wait to get my hands on this…
